Since the development of float glass and the beginning of the  licencing era in the early 1960’s Orwell have been involved with the development of the equipment to meet  the growing demand. From that time much of the equipment in use today on Pilkington float glass lines has been  developed in Orwell Engineering workshops working closely with Pilkington.

From then to the present time there have been many changes  in design, materials and methods of manufacture  to met the current demand for quality and reliability over the  ever increasing campaign period.

It is because of this that Orwell have deep understanding of  customers requirements and equipment best practice  in equipment supply and operation.

At this point in time the majority of float lines around the  world are operating with Orwell equipment.
